<p>Las diferentes herramientas del Control Estadístico de Calidad proporcionan mejores resultados si su uso se lleva a cabo de manera secuencial, facilitando la detección de los puntos débiles del proceso productivo. Así, en el presente estudio se expone un método de trabajo en el que se utilizan, atendiendo a la necesidad en cada punto de la cadena de producción, algunas de dichas herramientas. Impact of parasitoid-associated polydnaviruses on plant-mediated herbivore interactions

Insect herbivores interact via plant-mediated interactions in which one herbivore species induces changes in plant quality that affects the performance of a second phytophagous insect that shares the food plant. These interactions are often asymmetric due to specificity in induced plant responses to herbivore attack, amount of plant damage, elicitors in herbivore saliva and plant organ damaged by herbivores. Parasitoids and their symbiotic polydnaviruses alter herbivore physiology and behaviour and may influence how plants respond to parasitized herbivores. Radial and peripheral clines in northern polymorphic populations of Philaenus spumarius

Geographic variability in the colour polymorphism of Philaenus spumarius (Homoptera) was investigated in the northern parts of Finland, Norway and Sweden. The investigation was directed mainly at peripheral populations south of the Baltic—Arctic divide. The colour phenotypes were found to differ in their “north tolerance”. The phenotypes typ (pt/pt) and lat (pt/pt) were the most, and the phenotype tri (pt/pT) the least tolerant to marginal conditions. Differences in “north tolerance” between the phenotypes cause radial clines to be present in allele frequencies. The radial clines may be caused by the combined effect of several different factors. Active Wild Food Practices among Culturally Diverse Groups in the 21st Century across Latgale, Latvia

Simple Summary A study in the bordering region of Latvia took place in order to investigate wild plant food uses. In total 72 interviewees reported food uses. The most represented uses of recorded plants were recreational tea; for jam; as snacks and soup; and drink. Interviewees also reported loss of foraging practice due to the habitat change as for example in case of caraway and chamomile. The results indicated that part of the reason for the main use of wild plants were linked to diet diversification. Tradizioni etnofarmacobotaniche in alcune comunità rurali dei Monti di Trapani (Sicilia occidentale)

Ethnopharmacobotanical traditions in some rural communities of Trapani Mountains (West-Sicily). – The results refer an ethnopharmacobotanical study carried out in the territories of Valderice, Busto Palizzolo, Custonaci and San Vito Lo Capo, in the Trapani Mountains. There are 155 plants used in etno-medicine. The etnofarmacobotanical use of spontaneous and cultivated taxa represents an ecosystem services provided by biodiversity in the traditional agricultural systems of this area.
